Callan is a worthy bet

Neil Callan can continue his good Happy Valley form and upset Jockey Challenge favourite Douglas Whyte, with a couple of outsiders also looming as blow-out possibilities.

Callan's aggressive, hard-nosed style suits the tight track and he has ridden four winners at the last three meetings here, including a double last week. The Irish rider has a full book of eight rides and was $5.50 last night, with Whyte a $2.15 favourite.

Two outsiders worth consideration are Zac Purton ($14) and Tye Angland ($25), who have six and five rides respectively.
