Murray McHenry, owner of the McHenry Hohnen Winery in Margaret River, hosts a dinner tonight at Ava Restaurant/Bar at Hotel Panorama in Tsim Sha Tsui. The four-course meal is HK$428 plus 10 per cent and includes beef pave with black truffle-glazed potato and dried cherry beef jus, paired with a choice of the winery's Tiger Country Red 2005, Rolling Stone 2010 or Rocky Road Zinfandel 2009. Jacques Barnachon and Laurent Gagliardi, chef and pastry chef of the Michelin one-star L'Etang du Moulin in Alsace, France, are cooking at W Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui from tomorrow until Sunday. Dishes include goose foie gras terrine with black truffles; and slow-braised wagyu beef cheek in triple-fermented beer. For dessert, there's yellow wine creme brulee with fresh nuts and morel ice cream; and Macvin apple confit crumble with raw almonds. The dinner buffet tomorrow and on Saturday is HK$638 plus 10 per cent (HK$319 for children), lunch on Saturday is HK$368 (HK$184 for children). Marc Lanteri from the Michelin one-star Ristorante Il Baluardo in Mondovi, Italy, will be guest chef at Angelini at the Kowloon Shangri-La from March 3-9. Lanteri's dishes are available as a four-course dinner for HK$950 plus 10 per cent (with a HK$350 supplement for a four-course wine pairing), or on a five-course gala wine dinner on March 8 that costs HK$1,380. Chef Siriluck Lekkwan will be cooking Thai dishes from Saturday to March 23 at the Cafe at the Hyatt Regency in Sha Tin. Dishes include chicken in green curry; pomelo salad with shrimp (below); and pad Thai. The lunch buffet is HK$258 plus 10 per cent (HK$129 for children) Monday to Friday and HK$328 (HK$164 for children) on weekends.
