New transnational brands in the city

Location: Capitol Centre, Causeway Bay

Intro: Fun, fast, affordable fashion. With three large floors (and three more under construction), F21 stocks everything from cocktail dresses to tops and bottoms in every shade and cut imaginable. You're bound to find something that suits your style. The range of accessories is astonishing, too, so it's almost impossible to leave empty-handed. Impulse purchasing is recommended as the displays change daily. If you don't buy an item you like now, someone else may grab it, robbing you of another chance.

F21 Standout Piece: You can't beat F21's dresses. This polka dot dress hits your leg a few centimetres above your knee and has cute black detailing ... It's at a great price, too. Pair it with a neutral cardigan and flats - and you'll be ready to face whatever the day may bring.

Fun Fact: F21 closes at 1am. Now you'll always have a place to get a new outfit at the very last minute.

Location: No 77, Leighton Road, Causeway Bay

Intro: With American brands all the rage, it's refreshing to have a store that is 'Fabulously British'. Cue Jack Wills - University Outfitters. The middle-range clothing brand is known for its polished yet casual attire tailor-made to students.

Standout pieces: Their dresses are simply amazing. This subtle floral print cinches you in ... in all the right places. Cue swoon. Prices may be a little steep, but see a purchase as an investment.

Fun Fact: Oooohh, members of the Royal Family seem to be fans as well: Prince William has been seen sporting one of their polo shirts.

Location: No 31, Queen's Road, Central

Intro: Back to basics - it's as simple as that. The Gap's local flagship store is well-stocked with high-quality classic pieces that will last and stay in style for a long time to come.

Standout pieces: Denims from their 1969 line. Skinny, straight, boot, flare - The Gap has it all.

Fun Fact: The store's more than 1,400 square metres (four floors!); also boasts GapBody, GapKids and BabyGap lines. You can get your own shopping done and also find a neat present for a sibling.
