Laser violins, British singer brighten party

The city's most noted and quoted pack attended a Landmark party on Friday night at which British pop diva Leona Lewis took the stage in the Central shopping compound.

The party was to celebrate the launch of Hongkong Land's Landmark brand that unifies its four shopping destinations: The Landmark, Alexandra House, Chater House and Prince's Building.

The atrium of the Landmark mall was transformed into a one-night-only concert hall with bubbles flowing freely at the bar and a red carpet set up at the entrance welcoming A-list guests.

Kicking off the show, a violinist playing with a laser beam grabbed the attention of the audience who were previously chatting over champagne and canap?s. Though fashionably late, Lewis - a Grammy nominee, winner on the British talent show The X Factor, and best-selling singer-songwriter - wowed the guests for about 30 minutes with a performance including her hits Bleeding Love and I Got You.

Wearing a hot-pink blazer, she even got up close with the camera-phone-ready fans, which brought the party frenzy to another level - and of course those snaps went viral almost instantly.
