This Saturday there is an oyster and Austrian wine dinner at Chez Les Copains in Sai Kung, hosted by Christine Saahs, owner and winemaker of the Nikolaihof estate. The 10-course dinner includes fried oysters with potatoes and lake algae, paired with the Nikolaihof Im Weingebirge Gruner Veltliner Federspiel 2010, and pasta with sun-dried oysters and sesame served with the Pfaffl Blauer Zweigelt 2008. Pierre Perrin of Chateau de Beaucastel will host a dinner on March 16 at Man Wah restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental in Central. The dinner includes wok-fried beef spare ribs with the winery's Chateauneuf du Pape vintages 2001 and 2008, and fried rice with French pigeon meat, assorted mushrooms and black truffle with Hommage a Jacques Perrin 2005. Gaylord restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui is celebrating Holi, the Indian festival of colours, with a promotion that runs until Sunday. The Holi Hai set menu (HK$250 plus 10 per cent) has dishes of chicken malai tikka, a choice for main course of lal maas (lamb cooked with whole red chillies and herbs) or kesari murg (chicken with saffron-infused cashew and cream sauce) and desserts such as gujia (fritters stuffed with khoya, coconut and dried fruits, left).

The restaurant is also serving a menu of Indian street food until the end of April, with dishes that include channa bhatura (spiced chickpeas with fluffy fried bread and onion salad) and pao bhaji (spiced and buttered mashed potatoes and peas with toasted bread buns). Bookings: 2376 1001

Caf? on M at the InterContinental Grand Stanford hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui is featuring Japanese dishes on its buffet until the end of the month. Guests can choose dishes such as sushi, sashimi (below), black sesame truffle cake and red bean and green tea opera cake. The lunch buffet is HK$255 plus 10 per cent (HK$208 for children) Monday to Friday, and HK$308 (HK$228 for children) Saturday and Sunday.
