Plan International Hong Kong has celebrated its 75th anniversary with a fund-raising walk around Ocean Park. The charity lined up celebrity ambassadors singer-actor Ekin Cheng Yee-kin and actress Louisa So Yuk-wa to officiate at Sunday's event.

Hundreds of participants gathered at 7am to raise funds for the charity, which supports underprivileged children in China, Cambodia and Kenya. A few got creative with their costumes, in the form of diving suits, a jellyfish umbrella and an octopus hat.

'I've always been a supporter of Plan's aim to improve children's lives for the long term,' Cheng said at the Whisker's Theatre, where the walk ended. 'Plan not only helps with needy children's medical services, but also provides them with a free education to lift them out of poverty in a practical way.'

So, who visited Cambodia with Chen on behalf of Plan, also expressed her passion for the cause. 'I deeply understand that the children there urgently need our help. Today's walk is an invaluable opportunity for us to offer a helping hand,' So said. The pair's Cambodia trip was filmed and has been made into a television programme called Plan Special: Pass on the Love to Needy Children, which will air on TVB Jade tomorrow at 11pm.
