On style, she rules

I just love Lana Del Rey's style, especially that dress she wore on Saturday Night Live, but all I seem to read about is her performance. I heard something about Louis Vuitton, but the lace dresses there looked different somehow. Please tell me: where can I buy that dress?

The Dictator rules: Weird, right? I mean, who notices a singer's abilities before they do their fashion sense? Well, most of us, actually, as shown by the lack of info online. That's especially true here since her performance on the satirical American television show, on January 14, was laughable - and not in a good way. Del Rey's been photographed in Louis Vuitton (most famously for the cover of the March edition of British Vogue), Antonio Berardi, Mulberry and Vivienne Westwood, but that crochet/lace maxi dress is only referenced as 'vintage'. In other words, you won't find it. Anyway, let bygones be bygones and be glad that this season has no shortage of similar dresses. The leaf lace halter gown from Valentino's spring-summer collection is exquisite (HK$69,500; Lee Gardens, Causeway Bay, tel: 2907 2332), but the label's scallop-necked lace shift is more versatile and wearable (HK$35,000). There is also the Marc by Marc Jacobs sleeveless crochet sheath dress in natural beige cotton (HK$5,190; Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2918 0812). If you're happy to switch to spaghetti straps, another excellent match is the Meghan Fabulous lace maxi dress by Asos in pure cotton ivory crochet (HK$2,410; www. asos.com). For even less, you could go short and sweet with Massimo Dutti's cream lace dress with tan leather spaghetti straps and matching belt (HK$850; Times Square, Causeway Bay, tel: 2506 0050). Now, all you need to complete the look is a wig and sedatives. Kidding, people!

Ugh! I tried to tidy up my eyebrows in a rush but the more I tried to even them out the worse it got. Now I've got two patchy messes. What to do?

Raising Eyebrows, In Hiding

The Dictator: Were you drunk at the time? Do yourself a favour and throw away your tweezers. Leave it to the experts from now on. Luckily for you, most experienced brow specialists will be able to help with reshaping and tinting. One service worth mentioning is HD Brows, a seven-step treatment developed in Britain, which is particularly good for the overzealous and overplucked. It's almost a survey course in all the best eyebrow treatments from around the world, starting with an assessment of hair growth, colour and face shape. There's even a mandatory allergy patch test to make sure your face won't flame up as a result of the HD brand products. Next comes a few minutes of tinting before the therapist measures, marks and designs the shape of the brows, and waxes to remove unwanted hair. Threading tidies up stray, thin 'feathered' hairs, followed by a final pass with tweezers (don't get any funny ideas, Ms DIY). HD's Grow Baby Grow serum is applied to encourage proper regrowth. Finally, the area is cleansed before the therapist adds finishing, natural touches with the HD Brows Pencil and make-up from its Eye & Brow Palette. The treatment takes about 40 minutes and costs HK$380 (Fast Beauty; 83A Hollywood Road, Central, tel: 2517 0939; www. fastbeautyspa.com). You might also like to try the Browgraphy shaping and tinting service at Browhaus (HK$310; 17 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central, tel: 2845 0886).
