Double trouble for Tong as unruly three-year-old drops him twice

Phantom Philip left Jacky Tong Chi-kit in no doubt about the status of their relationship after getting rid of the jockey not once but twice. First Phantom Philip reared after being loaded into the starting stalls and briefly sat down, dislodging Tong. The three-year-old then started the race without a hitch but, not long after, Tong's left foot slipped out of the iron and he tumbled off the side of the horse. Tong was uninjured and stood down for the day and almost had reason to be sour when his ride Amigo came close to taking the ninth event under Eddy Lai Wai-ming. The other jockey in trouble was Derek Leung Ka-chun, copping a two-day ban and HK$30,000 fine for careless riding in the first race.
