Flex appeal

Lamborghini has kept the V10 Gallardo alive with a number of limited edition variants since it was launched in 2003 - with a mainly cosmetic difference. Last year it brought the Bicolore and Tricolore versions to Hong Kong. This month, the LP 560-4 Noctis arrived.

It's basically the same four-wheel-drive coupe as last year's LP 560-4, with a 5.2-litre engine that produces 560hp and 540Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 325km/h and can sprint from zero to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds. The main difference is the colour: a choice of a dark grey or blue body, an off-white arch over the side windows and black roof. Two tones of grey leather line the interior.

The car looks as if it chisels through the air, with its road-hugging, highly angled styling and huge frontal air intakes that had passers-by snapping photos. It's fun to ride, and despite a suspension that feels every bump, it's more than comfortable enough in the bucket seat. One thrilling aspect of the driving experience is how tightly it clings to the road, making cornering fun before accelerating like lightning back into the straight.

One warning: six-footers may find themselves spilling out of a car half their height.

Interested buyers will need to cough up HK$3.72 million, including tax, for the basic model.
