It's all about purse-onality: Fala Chen steals the show at launch of new Tory Burch boutique

The celebrity guest of honour, TVB actress Fala Chen, was very much the centre of attention at the opening of Tory Burch's accessories boutique in Times Square.

The US fashion brand, famous for its ballerina flats adorned with gold metal logos, celebrated the opening of its third shop in Hong Kong with a ribbon-cutting event at the Causeway Bay mall on Friday afternoon.

Noticing the crush of press people, shoppers crowded around, hoping to get a photo of Chen. Guests flooded into the store to check out the brand's new 'it' bags, including the 797 handbag collection - whose fans include singer Beyonce Knowles - created in honour of its 797 Madison Avenue boutique, opened in New York last September.

The Times Square shop was almost packed before the ceremony, and guests were led outside for the toast. The cameramen's calls for Chen to pose for a shot drowned out the voice of the emcee - who didn't have a microphone.
