Stepping out into the sole of chic comfort
In a case of like father like son, Gianvito Rossi, son of legendary Italian shoemaker Sergio Rossi, is rapidly gaining popularity among the city's well-heeled women.
The designer was in town last Thursday for the opening of his first Hong Kong boutique, in On Lan Street in Central. The street is already home to popular shoe shops such as Christian Louboutin and Rupert Sanderson.
A bevy of fashion party regulars attended the cocktail party opening, to meet the designer and check out the new spring-summer collection.
Celebrity twins Jacqueline and Mona Ch'ng, and their younger sister Lisa, spoke enthusiastically about the heels.
'I like the style. It accentuates the curves of the ankle,' Jacqueline said, sporting pointy-toe pumps. 'They are also comfortable to wear. You won't feel so tired wearing these, even after a long time. They are good from boardroom to ball.'
