Flights of fancy

Channelling the television show, Pan Am, in 1960s chic was Leah Howarth, who was spotted in the South Stand with 15 other gorgeous wannabe flight attendants, who put the 'doll' into trolley dolly.

Cutting a dash of a bygone era, Howarth, 28, said: 'I have flown in from Sydney to celebrate my hen weekend. I get married in two weeks and the girls wanted to send out my single life with a weekend to remember.'

The girls certainly attracted more than their fair share of attention.

The Sevens is a case of weddings, parties, reunions, chance encounters, anything goes. North and south of the stadium and at all points in between, there are people meeting their life partners, on stag nights and hen nights, and some are even on divorce parties.

Former Wasps chairman John O'Connell came with six mates from Britain and one from Dubai for a buck's weekend in the West Stand.

At 66, there is no truth to the rumour that for his third wedding the chairman of Helveta will be saying 'unaccustomed as I am' in the speeches.
