Achievements Enoch, 20, plays small forward on the Hong Kong youth squad. He represented Hong Kong in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Basketball Exchange Programme in 2009 and in the All-China Secondary Schools Students' Games in 2011. The team finished second in the Schools Interport Basketball Championships in 2010.

He is also a core player in his school team, which won two consecutive titles in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 Inter-school Basketball Competition (Division 3, Kowloon Area 3).

Soundbite 'A few years ago when I started playing basketball tournaments outside school, I often lost my form at crucial moments in matches,' Enoch says. 'The same thing happened when I represented Hong Kong at the Interport Championships. The coach said I was a player with potential but not one he could trust on court.

'After listening to his comments I was determined to cure my 'short circuit' problem with more focused training. I switched from power forward to small forward and it proved to be effective. I became a totally different, and reliable, player on court.

'My school team successfully defended our inter-school title this year and got through to play the Jing Ying Tournament again. Previously we have lost to the top team, but this year I feel my team is more capable.

'Our improvement also got public recognition. We have been invited to play in the 2012 Panasonic Cup Schools Basketball Championships in May. We face Hong Kong Island champions CCC Kwei Wah Shan College and Tuen Mun District champions SMKMCF Ma Ko Pan Memorial College.

'Kwei Wah Shan are good, but not unbeatable. I will use the month before the competition to boost my form. I've put on some weight because I've been revising for my A-levels [which finish today]. I hope we get a good result before my graduation.'

From his coach 'Enoch is a passionate player. He demands a lot of himself and always tries his best on court. His play inspires his teammates,' says Frankie Ma, coach of the school basketball team.

Ambitions 'I will join Division A1 League club UAT Basketball Team's training after completing my A-level exams. My dream is to become a professional player in the league. At the same time, I will try to boost my fitness over the next one or two years and hopefully become a fireman.'
