LESTER Piggott has been granted a licence to ride in Macau until the end of the present horse racing season.

But the legendary Piggott is unlikely to remain that length of time on the course and is expected to base himself in Hong Kong when he arrives.

The 57-year-old grandfather has remained constantly in the public eye since announcing a shock return to the saddle after a five-year 'retirement' but has had increasingly fewer rides in Britain.

But he remains a major drawcard around the world and one likely employer for his talents is one-time arch rival George Moore.

Piggott is expected to arrive in Macau next month and will also ride in India in February.
