Easter is a Christian festival marking the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Preceded by Lent - a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance - Easter begins on Maundy Thursday, which commemorates the Last Supper of Christ and his disciples. Good Friday symbolises Christ's crucifixion and subsequent death while Pentecost Sunday celebrates the day Christ rose from the grave. Families traditionally attend church services and Easter parades during this period, and children join in egg hunts and receive chocolate eggs.
Egg-citing Easter ahead for duo, and some family fun
Aspiring models Evelyn Choi Wing-yan and Anjaylia Chan ka-po were in holiday mood during an Easter promotional event for Festival Walk mall in Kowloon Tong.
The cute duo headed to the ice rink on Sunday to show off their skating moves after some coaching before the event. 'I've always wanted to learn skating,' Chan said. 'But my parents wanted me to be girly, not too sporty, so I never had a chance to learn until now.'
They also showed off their egg-painting skills. And what of their Easter plans? 'I've been tied up with work, going to events, preparing for my album ... so during the holiday I plan to spend more quality time with my family,' Choi said. Chan also plans to spend time with her family - and paint some more eggs.
