FLYING VISIT

Event

Exide Dealers' Conference 2011.

Objectives

To build relationships and increase motivation for 1,450 participants from India.

Measures

Make use of air capacity between Hong Kong and India, flying in participants from across India using 12 airlines. Logistics were made easier by accommodating the whole group in one pace, the Panda Hotel in Tsuen Wan. The four-day multidestination programme included an excursion to Macau.

Challenges

Short lead time as the event was decided only 45 days before departure. Logistics was a concern due to the group size.

Results

The trip was conducted smoothly with positive feedback from the participants. The organiser plans to bring a group of 600 to Hong Kong this year.

NIGHT TO REMEMBER

Event

Grand Hyatt Macau second anniversary Opulence Ball.

Objectives

The Belle Epoque-themed gala evening was styled and choreographed for show-stopping corporate dinners, weddings and special events.

Measures

The 1,911-square-metre grand ballroom was transformed into a palace featuring eight-metre-high paintings of dancing couples and a high-definition LCD screen beaming vintage images. A Champagne cocktail party was followed by a four-course gala dinner. Guests were entertained by star performers.

Challenges

Over 10-months of planning, numerous meetings and rehearsals enabled a seamless execution. This required orchestration and choreography between music, dance performances and catering services.

Results

Great interest was generated in the preparation and organisation of an event that received extensive media coverage and business inquiries.

CITY CHALLENGE

Event

Three-day team-building race in Taipei with 250 people from a professional services company.

Objectives

To enable participants to experience the city and bond through an experiential learning event.

Measures

Teams travelled by metro to complete challenges at landmarks including Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the Red House Theatre.

Challenges

Summer heat and rain were the key challenges, and a wet weather contingency plan was necessary.

Results

A high-impact day was successfully held, with participants getting to see and experience Taipei.

JUNGLE ADVENTURE

Event

Function for leaders of a global luxury hotel group taken to the jungle near Thailand's River Kwai for three days.

Objectives

Build rapport and encourage strategic thinking in a challenging environment.

Measures

The survival theme included a 'silent walk' through Hellfire Pass and a jungle/river adventure race ending in a tug-of-war with an elephant.

Challenges

Safety was a top priority, especially because half the group was unable to swim.

Results

Received positive feedback from participants about the location, and the results achieved exceeded expectations.
