British teen disappears at Chek Lap Kok airport
Police last night made a public appeal for help in tracing a 15-year-old British boy who went missing in Hong Kong.
Aidan William Ho Hatton disappeared at Chek Lap Kok airport before he was due to catch a flight bound for Scotland on Monday night, police said.
He told his mother at about 9.30pm that he was going to the airport's Burger King fast-food restaurant but did not return.
His mother found his mobile-phone line disconnected and made a report at the airport police station early yesterday.
Police said he had left the airport instead of catching the flight. 'Initial investigation showed the boy had told his mother that he was unhappy and did not want to return to Scotland,' a police officer said.
The officer said the boy had visited Hong Kong for the Easter holidays. The family has relatives in Sai Kung.
The thinly-built youth is about 1.7 metres tall and weighs 60kg. He has a square face, looks Chinese and has short, wavy, brown hair. The teenager has a star tattoo on his left ankle.
Police said he was last seen wearing a dark navy hooded jacket and black jeans, and was carrying a blue shoulder bag.

The police website shows three other foreign-born people are missing in Hong Kong.
They are Canadian tourist Ani Ashekian, part-time English tutor Terry Ridgley and Dutch-Chinese visitor Chang Ma-kee.
Ridgley had been living in the city for many years and holds a permanent identity card.
The disappearance of Chang led police to the confiscation of 374 kilograms of cocaine from a village house in Ta Kwu Ling in the New Territories in April 2010.
