Natura bisse Diamond White brilliance treatment
Since my recent birthday I have been looking forward to turning back the clock with the Natura Bisse Diamond White Brilliance Treatment. It promises to deliver a youthful glow, more even skin tone and softer, smoother skin.
Natura Bisse is a Barcelona-based family business that began in 1979 and now has a presence in more than 30 countries. It opened its only spa in Hong Kong in 2008. Decked out in crisp white, the spa looks inviting, modern and professional. It recently introduced its signature treatment, Diamond White Brilliance, to Hong Kong.
The treatment begins with a quick body massage that relaxes me, and then the therapist rubs my face to loosen up the muscles before applying the products.
The Diamond range is presented as an anti-ageing collection with lifting effects, and the creams feel rich and silky as they sink in.
First comes the Glyco Extreme Peel, an exfoliating procedure that helps to diminish skin impurities and stimulate cell renewal. The therapist warns me that the mask, which is left on for 15 minutes, may sting slightly. But the sensation lasts only a few minutes - unlike Botox injections, when the tingling can last for days.
Next it's the whitening mask. I prefer to have some colour in my cheeks so I'm relieved when the mask merely lightens the shade of the dark spots on my face. My skin is then moisturised with Diamond Extreme, an anti-ageing cream, and Diamond Drops, a serum that claims to increase its resistance to the sun when used regularly.
I emerge shiny and fresh-faced once the 90 minutes is up, and the therapist tells me it will take another hour before the full effects of the therapy are felt.
I receive sachets of Glycol Extreme Peel, Diamond Extreme Cream and Diamond Drops, which I am told to apply three or four days later, once the effects of the treatment have diminished. For best results, the Glyco Peel should be used twice a week for 10-15 minutes while the Diamond Extreme Cream should be applied before bed. I look a little too shiny for the first couple of hours, so if you're going straight out, it's best to press on some powder first.
The Diamond White Brilliance Treatment costs HK$1,800.
