Perfumes for spring-summer have finally arrived in stores. We've tested a range of new and updated scents for the season.

Paul Smith's Rose Limited Edition 2012 (HK$620/100ml) is a much more subtle take on the classic Paul Smith rose scent. Made with magnolia rose, tea rose, white peony and white musk, the eau de toilette has a light, sweet smell - perfect for daytime use. One or two sprays is sufficient, but it needs to be refreshed every few hours. Available at Faces and LCX, at Ocean Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Marry Me! Love Edition by Lanvin (HK$710/75ml) takes a while to warm up. At first the fragrance has a strong alcohol smell, but after half an hour or so it turns into a warm, musky scent. Once it settles, the smell lasts for hours. Ingredients include rose, Tunisian bitter orange and Indian jasmine. Available at all Lanvin counters.

Burberry Brit Summer Edition (HK$610/100ml) is an update of the luxury label's iconic 2003 fragrance. The limited-edition eau de toilette is sweeter than the original, and contains green almond, pear, green tea and fresh Italian lime. Fans of the Brit range will love this soft, summery version. Available at all Burberry counters.

Nina Fantasy (HK$580/50ml) from Nina Ricci has a distinctly sweet and zesty scent. Its delectable ingredients include mandarin, pear and cherry blossom, with a brown-sugar base. It can be worn during the day or night, but starts to fade after about three hours. Available at all Nina Ricci counters.
