Pegasus out to dump 'big brothers'

TSW Pegasus have promised to go all out in their crucial BMA First Division clash against 'big brothers' South China today at Hong Kong Stadium.

A victory will send Pegasus to the top of the standings, and with just two matches left to play after today, they will be tantalisingly close to their first league championship since being set up in 2008.

Ahead of today's game, Kitchee are top, one point ahead of Pegasus, while South China are third.

There is a close relationship between the two clubs playing today - South China convenor Steven Lo Kit-sing holds an honorary position at Pegasus as their patron, while his wife, Canny Leung Chi-shan, is on Pegasus' board of directors.

However, Pegasus coach Chan Hiu-ming has ruled out any funny business, saying both teams were professional and would play to win.

Pegasus forward and Hong Kong international Lee Hong-lim added: 'Whenever we meet South China, it's always a massive game. In fact, both teams can still win the title, so it is ridiculous to think that one team might do the other a favour.'

Pegasus beat South China 2-1 when they met in a heated match in November, their centre-half Karl Dodd being sent off for hitting South China striker Chan Siu-ki.

Pegasus will be missing playmaker Manoel Santos due to suspension, while centre-half Ng Wai-chiu, who is on loan from South China, will not be playing against his own club.
