Airport sets new record for monthly movements
The airport set a new monthly record in March with 29,600 flight movements, which was 5.2 per cent up on March last year. Resident and visitor traffic rose 20 per cent and 8 per cent respectively, but cargo throughput declined 0.4 per cent to 368, 000 tonnes year on year. Exports grew 3 per cent and transshipments fell 3 per cent.
Woman is splashed with corrosive fluid
At least one woman was injured when a bottle of corrosive fluid fell from a building in Fa Yuen Street, Mong Kok, and splashed her at about 11pm on Saturday. She sought treatment early yesterday at Tseung Kwan O Hospital. Police believed the case was an accident and called for anyone splashed to call 2398 6200.
PLA vehicle hits bus in Repulse Bay Road
A People's Liberation Army vehicle hit a bus loading passengers at a bus stop at about 6.30am in Repulse Bay Road, Southern district. No one was injured and both drivers passed breath tests, police said.
