Attention to detail

The Chinese Contemporary Arts and Crafts Biennale opened last Tuesday, featuring about 1,000 contemporary artworks ranging from jade, ivory, stone and wood carvings to ceramics, lacquer ware, embroidery and furniture. The pieces will be on show in Beijing at the National Museum of China until May 6. South China Morning Post photographer Simon Song visited the exhibition, which is sponsored by the Chinese National Academy of Arts and was put together by the China National Arts and Crafts Museum and the National Museum of China.
