Guests get the scoop on the latest in fro-yo

Summer is in the air and it is fro-yo season again. Frozen yogurt shops have been mushrooming around town so you can be forgiven for mistaking Red Mango for just another new kid on the block. The brand was one of the first to serve up the healthy dessert choice of celebrities, having been founded in 2002 in South Korea.

Since opening its first Los Angeles shop in 2007, Red Mango has branched out to more than 230 stores worldwide. Last Thursday it opened an outlet on Wellington Street in Central.

TVB actress Fala Chen (pictured) attended the grand opening and said she was a big fan of fro-yo. She even created her own fix of Fala Fro-yo on the spot. 'I love fro-yo because it is a healthy dessert to replace ice cream,' Chen said.

'As an actress, I have to stay in shape. I have tried Red Mango in the US and am happy to see Hong Kong now has one. I always choose the original flavour and spoil myself with a generous helping of expensive fresh fruit toppings.'

Instead of sipping champagne, guests celebrated with a toast of healthy smoothies.
