John Moore has entered Xtension and Captain Sweet for races at Royal Ascot in June, their upcoming runs to confirm whether they travel, while the trainer's former star, Collection - now with Derek Cruz - was also a surprise nomination for the prestigious carnival.

A strong performance in next week's BMW Champions Mile will see Xtension take on the Group One double of the Queen Anne Stakes and Prince of Wales's Stakes, while Captain Sweet will make his case for a trip in Sunday's Sprint Cup at Sha Tin.

Captain Sweet was second in the Bauhinia Sprint behind Little Bridge, and he may face the same horse in the King's Stand Stakes or Diamond Jubilee after Danny Shum Chap-shing entered his stable star.

Moore said Captain Sweet would have to win to warrant a trip, while Xtension may get two more opportunities to prove his credentials.

'Captain Sweet would have to win easily,' Moore said. 'We had Xtension entered last year, but it was the wrong time. The owner is still keen, but his run over the mile and maybe one more start will help us decide with him.'

Derek Cruz has aimed Joy And Fun at the sprint double, and is considering sending Collection as a travelling companion if the seven-year-old can find some form in Sunday's Audemars Piguet QE II Cup and the Queen Mother Memorial Cup seven days later.

'We'll be looking to Sunday for an indication of whether he is up to up to it,' Cruz said.

'If he runs OK, he will probably improve again into the 2,400m race. I like the idea of taking him to a different environment and the owners would love to go and see him race over here.'
