Flats the highlights at the opening of Italian shoemaker Fratelli Rossetti

The 'it' girls traded in their skyscraper heels for comfortable flat sandals, lace-up brogues and pointy kitten heels for the store opening of Italian shoemaker Fratelli Rossetti at the IFC Mall.

The brand, founded in 1953, is known for its high-quality craftsmanship and subtle, elegant styling. It manufactures footwear for designer brands such as Pierre Cardin, Ralph Lauren and Yves Saint Laurent. The latest collection, unveiled last Thursday, is all about feminine looks without the killer heels.

Model Ana Rivera, sporting an electric-blue one-piece dress, tried on some white strappy flats and tasselled loafers. Party regular Vanessa Yeung Tsang, who wore a pair of beige and red pointy kitten heels, said the design and colour combination made her legs look leaner and even longer.

Before leaving, model and yoga instructor Ankie Beilke changed out of her tanned flat sandals and white crocheted dress and into Dorian Ho couture and glittery platform sandals for the Chateau Baccarat x Michael Wong event later that night at Gold restaurant. If she had sense, she would have kept the flats in her bag to change back into before leaving bustling Lan Kwai Fong.
