Air traffic on the rise at Chek Lap Kok
Hong Kong International Airport reported continued monthly air traffic growth last month, with a year-on-year increase of 1.9 per cent in passenger trips, to 4.7 million, and 1.1 per cent in cargo, to 346,000 tonnes. Jaguar, Chery team up to build car factory
Tata Motors' Jaguar Land Rover unit and Chery Automobile will invest 10.9 billion yuan (HK$13.5 billion) to build a manufacturing plant by 2014 in Changshu, Jiangsu province, and create a new brand to cater to Chinese consumers. Bloomberg
Daimler board to get director for China
German carmaker Daimler plans to expand its board to include a member solely responsible for the company's China business to help iron out management problems, German news weekly Der Spiegel said in an issue that hits newsstands today. While fellow German luxury-car firms Audi and BMW have raced ahead in the Chinese market, Der Spiegel said Daimler's Mercedes-Benz models had been slipping behind despite sales growth. AFP
