Mainland coal and power producers have signed contracts for the supply of 1.87 billion tonnes of power-station coal for 2013, up 55.8 per cent year on year, said the China Coal Trade and Distribution Association. Fashion retailer I.T posted a 0.3 per cent year-on-year growth in comparable store sales in the three months to November 30 in Hong Kong, compared to a 13 per cent rise in mainland China and a 19.3 per cent fall in Japan. Gross profit margin slid 2.7 percentage points to 58.3 per cent in Hong Kong, fell 4 percentage points to 59.1 per cent in mainland China, and rose 4.1 percentage points to 60.7 per cent in Japan due to cost-cutting.
