New | JD.com taps international suppliers for broad imported food initiative
Products from dozens of other leading US food brands are available, including chocolate candy from Ghirardelli and Mars, ground coffee beans from Starbucks, beer from Dead Guy Ale and raisins from Sun-Maid

JD.com, the largest online direct sales company in China, is looking to expand the selection of imported foods and beverages sold to its 50 million mainland customers under its first major promotion with six countries.
Helping kick-start the initiative this week were embassy officials from the United States, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand and Chile, which also represent the world’s biggest wine-producing and major agricultural nations.
“This initiative is a major step forward in JD.com’s strategic efforts to dominate the verticals most important to our customers, from travel and cars to imported foods,” Shen Haoyu, the chief executive of the Beijing-based company’s JD Mall business-to-consumer division, said on Tuesday.
Fresh produce that can be now bought from the JD.com platform include Boston lobster and US-grown temperate fruits.
Products from dozens of other leading US food brands are available, including chocolate candy from Ghirardelli and Mars, ground coffee beans from Starbucks, beer from Dead Guy Ale and raisins from Sun-Maid.
