New | Chinese equities open lower in the US, while Baidu continues to gain

Search engine Baidu continued to be one of the only gaining Chinese equities in the US by midday on Tuesday as Nasdaq opened low. Baidu was up 0.2 per cent to US$167. 

The Deutsche X-trackers Harvest CSI300 China A-Shares ETF headed towards a 7 per cent tumble by midday after the Shanghai Composite Index ended Tuesday down 6.15 per cent. 

Blackrock's iShares MSCI China Index Fund dropped 2 per cent to US$48.49. 

Internet online-to-offline company 58.com, which reports results tomorrow, dropped more than 4 per cent to US$47.
