Bank of East Asia
Founded in 1918, Bank of East Asia is the largest independent local bank and third largest bank in Hong Kong. It was co-founded in 1918 by Li Koon-chun, grandfather of David Li Kwok-po, who has been its chief executive since 1981.
Bank of East Asia FY profit jumps 39pc
Bank of East Asia, Hong Kong’s largest locally-owned bank, said 2012 net attributable profit rose to HK$6.1 billion, up 39 per cent on the HK$4.5 billion net profit in 2011. Analysts had expected a more modest rise of about 20 per cent.
