Do you love science? I love science.

Here we’ll be covering things that make it into the pages of the South China Morning Post, and things that don’t but you might still be interested in, from the world of science.

We’re going to take a closer look at Asia. Research and development have been largely focused in Western institutions, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t developments happening here in our own backyard. Fact is: scientific research is taking off in our corner of the world.

We’ll be talking to researchers, hackers, bankers, Buddhist monks and solid waste experts, and looking at science through many different facets, philosophy, history, art, as well as the usual suspects, so we’d love some input from you. Heard that the guy who created Wikipedia is coming into town? Wondering why the water in Discovery Bay is glowing blue? Write to us.

And finally to paraphrase the words of Ed Yong of Not Exactly Rocket Science: The Daily Matter would like to give jargon, confusion, elitism a solid beating with the stick of good writing.
