From the runway: Lanvin, Dior, Isabel Marant
Lanvin
Lanvin's shows are always fun-filled affairs with waiters serving little boxes of popcorn to waiting guests whilst a glamorous lounge singer and band entertain. On the catwalk, Alber Elbaz sent beautifully tailored dresses which were offset by kooky loud gem-encrusted accessories.
Christian Dior
Gigantic mirrored balls filled the mirrored venue, as floors were covered in a blue sky print. Some exquisite light dresses were embroidered and embellished with quirky motifs. We also saw plenty of black and white and liberal use of herringbone. Favourite pieces include the gently asymmetrical skirts and a stunning black leather coat.
Isabel Marant
Simple black body conscious rocker outfits seemed slightly minimal, though since this is Marant, there were the obligatory studs, and one particularly heavy metal cropped jacket. The big duffle coats and clean cut boyfriend jackets were great wearable piece, but overall this collection lacked a certain excitement and edge that Marant is capable of.
