From the runway: Junya Watanabe, Haider Ackermann, Vivienne Westwood
Junya Watanabe
The day started off with Junya Watanabe. The Comme des Garçons protégé showed some interestingly cut leather biker jackets with check tartan skirts and sleeves. The effect was distinctly 80s and early 90s. Thrown in were some patchwork denims and a clever use of zips to create form and curves. Shame about those awful wigs and black leggings with stilettos.
Haider Ackermann
Another coup from Ackermann. These were outfits that I wanted to take off the models and wear straight away. Emerging from the mist, were cosy-belted jackets with great big lapels, thick tweed pants and layers upon layers.
Vivienne Westwood
A surprisingly controlled collection from the designer. Although the usual Westwood dramatic flourishes were there, the kooky make up, the dramatic big hoop skirts and wild upbeat music, the clothes were actually very wearable.
