General John Allen

The top commander of US forces in Afghanistan found himself dragged into the scandal that cost CIA boss David Petraeus his job. Allen was discovered to have sent a huge volume of e-mail to Tampa socialite Jill Kelley, also the recipient of abusive messages from Petraeus' mistress/biographer Paula Broadwell. Allen's move to the top US military post in Europe is now on hold.

John McAfee

The pioneer of antivirus software is on the run in Belize on suspicion of shooting dead a neighbour, and even had to hide in a cardboard box covered in sand to evade capture, he said this week. Mcafee had already blown most of the US$100 million he received for selling his eponymous software company.

Wong Ching

The major ATV investor is under fire after a protest against the issuance of new licences for free-to-air television stations. ATV's decision to show the protest live has been at the centre of almost 2,000 complaints to the Office of the Communications Authority. But Wong still has his friends - when the Civic Party's Claudia Mo Man-ching approached him at the rally, a phalanx of Mr Asia contestants formed a human shield to keep her away.
