The Schirn Kunsthalle museum in Frankfurt, Germany, launches a Yoko Ono retrospective to mark the artist's 80th birthday. The exhibition features characteristic works, using a variety of media, from the past 60 years. Ono became well known in the early 1960s in New York and then in Japan. The exhibition takes a close look at her works from the sixties and seventies, including her influence on concept and performance art, film, music and her work for peace.

Cleric Tahirul Qadri starts a series of rallies in six Pakistani cities. Gujranwala is first, followed by Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Sukkar and Rawalpindi. The Canadian-Pakistani, whose calls for transforming Pakistan into a moderate Islamic state have made him an instant political star, was grilled by the Pakistani supreme court this week on how he could be loyal to Pakistan while holding a Canadian passport. Qadri was in court to file a petition calling for the dissolution of the country's electoral commission, which he alleges is not equipped to ensure fair and transparent elections.

 

The 70th Valentine Wedding Service and Banquet Expo opens at the convention and exhibition centre in Wan Chai. The three-day, quarterly event claims to be the longest-established wedding expo in the city and offers a range of wedding products and services as well as catwalk shows and celebrities participating in special activities.
