Hong Kong's house of mouse is finally making some money. The city's Disney park reported profits of HK$109 million, thanks to a 13 per cent rise in visitor numbers. But the attraction is still a long way from offsetting the HK$3.8 billion in net losses it racked up before this year.

 

The accountant avoided facing a Hong Kong court on charges of fraud amounting to millions of dollars after a court in Spain ruled that the city had no right to demand his return. Macau-born Azedo is wanted for allegedly fleecing investors, including racehorse owner Archie da Silva, and China Construction Bank (Asia), out of HK$90 million.

 

The governor of China's central bank shows that age is no barrier to holding down a top job. After a decade-long reign, Zhou was expected to stand down on reaching the retirement age of 65, especially after he was left out of the Communist Party's top leadership in last year's reshuffle. But he has been given the nod to stay on.
