The little-known restaurant, based out of a former Scout hut in a quiet corner of London, found itself hailed by foodies for offering the world's best fast-food dish. The deli's margherita pizza was voted No1 in the world in a poll of food bloggers by the Chowtzer food magazine. Other winners included Louis' Lunch, the US restaurant that bills itself as the birthplace of the hamburger.

Lam and her two sons have lived and worked in a lane in Causeway Bay since the mid-1970s, yet looked to be on the move after The Court of First Instance ruled in favour of a developer and against their claim that they were eligible to stay in the lane under the law of adverse possession. They were celebrating last week when the Court of Appeal overturned the ruling.
