Otto Cheng Ping-lun

The city's architects are always looking for new business abroad but Cheng went a stage further than most, finding a willing customer in North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Kim was so impressed with plans for an airport at the Mount Kumgang tourist area that he asked Cheng's PLT Planning and Architecture to look into redesigning Pyongyang's main international airport.

Gay priests

Homosexuality in the Catholic Church has always been a hot issue, but there was a rare sign of hope for gay clergy from Pope Francis. Returning from his well-received visit to Brazil, the pontiff told journalists on the plane that he would not judge priests for their sexuality. He also held out hope of a greater role in the church for women - though not the priesthood.
