European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso will meet Premier Li Keqiang during an EU-China summit today in the capital, covering political, economic and cultural issues. Leaders will be hoping to smooth relations as although the EU has become the largest trade partner of China, the two giants spent the first half of the year in a trade battle over EU accusations that Chinese companies were selling solar panels below cost. China threatened retaliation with duties on wine.

Amnesty International launches its report entitled "Exploited for Profit, Failed by Governments: Indonesian migrant domestic workers trafficked to Hong Kong". It is expected to document failings by both the Indonesian and Hong Kong authorities to prevent and suppress trafficking and the use of forced labour.
