The Hong Kong cyclist wrapped up her World Cup season on Sunday with another excellent performance, clinching the women's keirin in the final leg of the series in Guadalajara, Mexico. Despite winning a bronze medal in the same event at the 2012 London Olympic Games, Lee had never captured a keirin gold in the World Cup series until this win, in which she edged out a field of five other riders to win by a narrow margin.

Five children who delivered a 60,000-signature petition to government advisers to have the city's stockpile of ivory destroyed were rewarded for their efforts on Thursday, when the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department gave the move the long-awaited go-ahead. Christina Seigrist, nine, and 11-year-old Lucy Skrine started the petition, earning them the nickname "elephant angels". Most of the ivory stockpile will be destroyed by incineration, which is expected to be completed in two years.
