Law Society president Ambrose Lam San-keung came under fire after he praised the central government's white paper on "one country, two systems", calling it a "positive document". A group of solicitors was incensed by the comments. They collected enough signatures to call a special meeting to vote on a motion of no confidence in Lam. This week, lawyers will hold a silent march in support of judicial independence.
