Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte visits Malaysia to discuss investigations into the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in July. Rutte will hold talks with Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak, before flying to Australia for a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott. The Netherlands is leading the investigation into the loss of MH17, after losing 193 citizens when the plane, travelling over conflict-hit eastern Ukraine, disappeared from radar.
A French court decides on a request from South Korea to extradite Yoo Som-na, whose family is suspected of owning the Sewol ferry that capsized on April 16 leading to 300 deaths. Yoo has been held in France since May over charges of fraud and embezzlement related to her involvement with investment firm I-One-I and its company Chonghaejin Marine, which owned the ferry. Her father, Yoo Byung-un, is the subject of an intense manhunt in South Korea over his holdings in the companies.
