Dutch PM visits Malaysia to discuss flight MH17
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte visits Malaysia to discuss investigations into the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in July. Rutte will hold talks with Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak, before flying to Australia for a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott. The Netherlands is leading the investigation into the loss of MH17, after losing 193 citizens when the plane, travelling over conflict-hit eastern Ukraine, disappeared from radar.
 
French court rules on ferry extradition request
A French court decides on a request from South Korea to extradite Yoo Som-na, whose family is suspected of owning the Sewol ferry that capsized on April 16 leading to 300 deaths. Yoo has been held in France since May over charges of fraud and embezzlement related to her involvement with investment firm I-One-I and its company Chonghaejin Marine, which owned the ferry. Her father, Yoo Byung-un, is the subject of an intense manhunt in South Korea over his holdings in the companies.
 
Indian activist marks 15 years of hunger strike
Indian activist Irom Sharmila marks 15 years of not eating meals as part of a hunger strike protesting against an Indian law that suspends many human rights protections in areas of conflict. Sharmila, 42, went on hunger strike in 2000 in protest against powers given to security forces to search property and shoot on sight. During her detention, she was force-fed by doctors through a tube going into her nose to keep her alive.
 
Libyan court rules on parliament's legitimacy
Libya's Supreme Court issues a verdict on the legitimacy of the country's new parliament. The decision could put an end to the stand-off in the country, where two rival assemblies are battling for legislative authority. The Tobruk-based House of Representatives last month ordered army troops to launch a military operation aimed at "liberating" the capital, Tripoli, from armed militias, and called on local residents to launch a campaign of civil disobedience against fighters controlling the city.
 
EU ambassadors to inspect camps in Darfur
European Union ambassadors to Sudan visit southern Darfur to inspect camps for those displaced by the conflict in the region and to meet government officials. Tomas Ulicny, head of the delegation of ambassadors, said the visit would cover EU-funded projects to improve water sanitation, basic health services, food supply and education for the population of south Darfur, where many remain displaced.

Cambodia celebrates the annual water festival, which is estimated to attract around a third of the country's 14 million people each year to the capital Phnom Penh to watch dragon boat races and fireworks.
