Chinese premier Li Keqiang is among the national leaders taking part in the East Asia summit.

The East Asia summit concludes in Myanmar's capital, Naypyidaw, today. Those taking part include the leaders of the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, plus the heads of eight other countries, including Chinese premier Li Keqiang and US President Barack Obama. The meeting takes place as doubts emerge about the pace of change in Myanmar, which released democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi from house arrest four years ago.

Chinese statisticians release the country's latest data on industrial output, retail sales and fixed-asset investment. The figures will give a further indication about the state of the economy, which has been slowing in recent months. Beijing is expecting growth of 7.5 per cent for the full year, although some economists think the final figure will come in lower and that economic growth may slow to 7 per cent next year - which would be a good showing for developed countries.
