New Zealand welcomes President Xi Jinping for an official visit. This is the first visit of a Chinese president since Hu Jintao made the trip in 2003. Xi is scheduled to visit both Auckland and Wellington. He will meet New Zealand Prime Minister John Key and other officials in a bid to boost cooperation between the two countries. Xi was previously in Australia to attend the G20 summit. He also addressed the Australian parliament.
Leading lights of China's online revolution are set to attend the World Internet Conference, which starts today in the historic town of Wuzhen in Zhejiang province. They include Alibaba chairman Jack Ma Yun and Baidu founder Robin Li. The conference will discuss global internet governance, cybersecurity, the role of the internet in promoting economic and social development and technological innovation in the field.
