On tycoon Cecil Chao's HK$500m reward for a caring man to marry his gay daughter:
Terry Yau - Goes to show that being rich, in this case, definitely doesn't mean having a graceful personality. He's just absolutely embarrassing himself more than anything else.
Philip Ho - There is nothing wrong with being a member of the LGBT [community]. Cecil Chao is such a bigot, as one's sexual orientation has got nothing to do with anyone, including parents. Leave Gigi alone, for goodness sake.
Judy Baxter - I believe a talented man with a good heart would not take this kind of offer, because he should have self-respect too.
Yi Long - I can't believe how narrow-minded some people still are about same-sex relationships. And then offering HK$500 million to showcase that narrow-mindedness to the world … wow, that's just sad.
On Catholic Church's proposals for Hong Kong government:
Chu Fu-min - I would like to press the Catholic diocese to modernise with the times so that it can be regarded as relevant. Modernisation actions to be considered: support contraception, support abortion and gay union/marriage. Otherwise, stay out of politics
Hadrian Shattner - Fortunately, unlike the mainland, in Hong Kong the Catholic Church is free to say whatever it wants. On the other hand, who gives a damn about its opinion?
Patrick Shu Wing-lee - The Catholic diocese is doing the right thing. How about other religious bodies and large organisations taking up their social responsibility?
Marcus H. Langston - Why didn't they say all this to [then chief executive] Donald Tsang when he was grovelling to them?
