Why must they seek political asylum in Hong Kong, not our neighbouring jurisdictions? They must understand that we are under Chinese rule, no longer British rule.

These people will not assimilate into HK's lifestyle, they'll not learn to speak Chinese nor the Chinese way of life. HK has more than enough daily migrants (who speak and write Chinese and some English) from the mainland to join families. HK does not have enough land for more unqualified people to join our society.

These asylum seekers have come to the wrong place. They should have gone to those countries which always talk about human rights such as the US, Australia, the UK. HK has been criticised by these countries for its lack of protection of human rights for years.

The deadlock will not be eased and ended unless a compromise is reached by both sides. Government has failed to mediate because of a lack of co-operation and compromise from them. Only if there is arbitration or a miracle will the dispute be settled. Things may turn worse if it drags on for too long.

Hong Kong just doesn't get it! We were just reported as the worst in the world for light pollution…and now this! Asia's world city, what a joke!

Seems like a waste of energy. How about just doing shows like this on special occasions?
