The pedestrian area in Mong Kok

Hong Kong is one of my favourite cities along with London, New York, Paris and Tokyo.

There is so much I can enjoy here including all the good food, latest electronic items and places like Disneyland, Stanley Market and Mong Kok.

I love the pedestrian area in Mong Kok. There are so many different events, such as for street music, arts and crafts, photography and kung fu, and a wide variety of shops.

It has become one of the landmarks of Hong Kong, like Covent Garden in London and the Quincy Market in Boston.

It attracts people from all walks of life and a lot of tourists. Whenever I go to this area, I spend hours there, walking around and listening to the buskers, some of whom are very good musicians. On my last visit earlier this year, there were a few groups playing all the oldies.

Therefore, I do not agree with a further restriction in the opening hours of this zone to only weekends and public holidays ("Pedestrian days cut amid safety concerns", November 22). I think many of us, local people and visitors alike, will be very disappointed by this decision.
