I want to tell the students protesting for democracy to understand the consequences of their actions.

Do they know that they are affecting the lives of many people who may be suffering due to the disruption caused? Are they making an assumption that they alone have the interests of the community at heart?

I want to tell the young people that they should think about the ideals for which they stand. Are they condoning a society where rules only have meaning so long as they personally agree with them? Are they suggesting that their interest lies above all others in society?

I feel sad that some of the adult organisers have used the students to achieve their own ambitions. Is it morally right to fuel the young and impressionable in this protest? Whatever the objective, motivating the youth in this manner is irresponsible and dangerous.

I feel disappointed that some parents are missing the point as they encourage their children to participate. What kind of values are they teaching our children?

Are they teaching our youth that they can ignore the laws when it does not fit their purpose? Are they sending the message to youngsters that the louder the voice, the less important the logic of the argument?
