AICA Asia Pacific holds commitment to innovative solutions for region’s building segment

Finding new applications every day, adhesives function far beyond holding things together; they are helping shape stronger, sturdier and more innovative industries.

“Whether it is enhancing leak-free baby diapers or making construction materials more durable and water-resistant, evolving with the market’s needs means growing just as strong as the adhesives we produce,” says Francis Chan, CEO of AICA Asia Pacific Holding.

Based in Singapore, the company is the regional leader in high-performance adhesives and surfacing solutions for applications including woodworking, industrial and retail.

Among AICA Asia Pacific’s most diversely used solutions are its hot melt range, which is used in edge banding, profile wrapping, packaging, book binding, vehicle headlamps and its well-known brand of formaldehyde-based adhesives used in woodworking.

A subsidiary of Japan-headquartered chemical and building materials expert AICA Kogyo, the company is also the regional head office of more than 18 sites across north Asia, Southeast Asia and New Zealand.

This enables AICA Asia Pacific to develop, manufacture and customise solutions while offering on-site support to local and regional customers.

“Being an adhesive manufacturer for nearly half a century ensures we have accumulated a comprehensive portfolio to support our clients’ requirements as a one-stop shop,” Chan says. “Our success is built on a solid footprint in Asia-Pacific’s industrial markets and emerging sectors, backed by highly experienced, localised support teams.”

In the next 10 years, AICA Asia Pacific aims to further diversify its solutions towards industrial applications – from 65/35 per cent wood/industrial
use to about 60/40 per cent industrial/wood. It is eyeing expansion in China, Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent, recognising the region’s robust construction and building segments.
