Located at the foot of the Alps, Institut Monte Rosa offers students a breathtaking view of Lake Geneva. The family-owned boarding school, however, offers more than inspiration. Monte Rosa stands for 142 years of Swiss legacy in personalised education.

“It has for us always been quality before quantity,” says director Alexandre Gademann. “Our pedagogical approach focuses on creating a real family-like atmosphere by knowing every student personally and placing each of them at the centre of everything we do on a daily basis.”

Monte Rosa is able to deliver on this commitment by having small classes of between two and 10 students.

In addition, with its 50 to 60 total enrolees coming from as many as 20 countries, the institution is able to offer a cultural experience unmatched by other schools.

Beyond junior and high school education for students from nine to 19 years old, Monte Rosa offers tests such as the SAT Suite of Assessments, Test of English as a Foreign Language and other courses to prepare students for university or professional work.

“We offer specific courses tailored to individual student preferences, be it in arts, sports, business or languages,” Gademann says. “We do not want students to adapt to a rigid structure. For us, it is the other way around, and we do everything possible to present them a system where they will feel at home.”

Looking to share this approach with students from China and the rest of Asia, Monte Rosa welcomes agents who have strong relationships with parents in appropriate networks. Potential partners must also be able to understand and explain to parents the school’s distinct teaching approach.

“Asian students and their parents are exceptionally satisfied with our focus on quality,” Gademann says. “With Swiss management precision, we are always able to deliver what they came here for in the first place.”
